Review: SH Figuarts Greeed Ankh(Greeed)
[This is an SH Figuarts review]
Finally, I’m caught up with the SH Figuarts from Kamen Rider OOO with the current final figure, Tamashii Web Exclusive Greeed Ankh (Greeed). Here is the review.
Figure: Handling the SH Figuarts Greeed Lost Ankh has spoiled me. That figure was probably one of, if not the, most beautiful SH Figuarts ever made. Once I cracked the proper version, I wasn’t as blown away as I was the first time. Don’t get me wrong, this figure is just as elegant and praiseworthy as Lost Ankh is, this just isn’t new to me. Regardless, besides a few remolded parts, this figure isn’t different from Lost Ankh at all. The torso is remolded to allow for new connection ports for the wings, this makes the ‘flaccid’ wings look strange. I also didn’t realize that both suits had wrist-wings on opposite sides. Finally, if you were thinking of using some hands from the Ankh Stand Set, you’re out of luck. The standard SH Figuarts wrist ball-joints are slightly thicker than what the Ankh Stand Set uses, so it won’t fit; unless you want to stretch the socket out.
EDIT: I forgot to mention… he’s missing his earring.
Accessories: Besides the wings, there really isn’t much to the accessories. The wings are heavy, smell like corn chips, are missing green paint, and only look good splayed out. To make things worse, they make the figure top-heavy and they don’t do much. Is it cool to own? Sure, but don’t think that this is the figure’s only selling point. I love that Bandai gave Ankh some great hand gestures, but would have been ecstatic if they were compatible with the Ankh Stand Set. Finally, a clear Tamashii Stage with illustrations of the red Core Medals is packed.
Overall: If you already own Lost Ankh and the Ankh Stand Set, then you really don’t have to jump to get this figure. If you don’t own either, I would heavily consider this if I were you. Is owning this going to make me sell my Lost Ankh? I don’t know. Honestly, a large part of me actually thinks that the purple elements of Lost Ankh make it a more attractive figure. Despite all this, this mold is one of the best of the line, and the paint job is top-tier. If you’re a fan of Kamen Rider OOO or not, you have to at least own one version of this guy.
