[This is an SH Figuarts review]
Next on Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger week is Warz Gill, the pampered prince of Space Empire Zangyack. Per usual, this SH Figuarts is a Tamashii Web Exclusive. Here is the review.
Figure: Up front, Warz Gill doesn’t look too bad. The colors catch your attention at first, then in time you’ll notice some strange things with the figure. Warz Gill has a stupidly stiff mantle/jacket/coat that doesn’t do much for me. The pieces are incredibly rigid, and they barely move, and they throw off the figure’s balance. It’s one variable that makes the figure difficult to pose; it practically needs a figure stand. The wrist cuffs are the worst part of the figure. Because of the nature of plastic, they just project outwards and don’t flow as naturally as they should. These not only need to be removed to replace the hands, they hide the hands as well; utter garbage. The sculpt, then, is alright. The details aren’t crisp, and the chest looks like lumpy Play Doh. I’m also not sure of what to make of the legs. I was looking forward to sculpted MC Hammer pants, but the legs on the figure are rather thin.
Accessories: Want to talk about accessories? There are three extra hands. That’s it. What’s worse is that that are pointless because of those stupid wrist cuff things.
Overall: First off, bad guys excite me. As much as I love hero figures, it’s the villains that I look forward to the most. Warz Gill, just doesn’t do anything for me. I don’t get the arrogant spoiled vibe from the sculpt, and it’s bland. It’s funny, I actually like the design of the suit as well as his crew, but this? Meh. In my books this was a wasted effort; plus I don’t see why this wasn’t a Figuarts Zero.
