Review: TFCC FSS Transformers Timelines Circuit
The third figure from Transformers Collectors Club Figure Subscription Service should be hitting, and it’s the Autobot Action Master Circuit. Circuit is a repaint of Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons Axor. Here is the review.
Alt Mode: The Transformers RotF Lockdown mold has a very interesting Mad Max-type roadster as an alt mode, and I’m pretty sure that it’s a hit or miss for some people. Do I find this as an appropriate mold choice for Circuit? Ehhhhh not really. In fairness, considering that Circuit doesn’t really have much besides an Action Master figure to go by, I guess beggars can’t be choosers right? In alt mode, Circuit has a ton of paint apps… but there is a ton of over-spray action going on. The color choices are interesting, but I can’t say that I’m a huge fan of the execution; but how much better could it have been? Perhaps they could have used some different color choices? I dunno, but I will say that I do love the light blue windows. What would have made this perfect, though, are painted tail lights.
Robot Mode: While I like Lockdown, Axor doesn’t do much for me. That said, I’m not really too keen on Circuit. I can swallow the color scheme, I’ll give credit where credit is due… but the paint job is just sloppy. The over-spray on my figure’s chin ruins the face. What else is ruined is the oversized Axor head; it’s just too big and makes the body look dumpy.
Overall: Now before people jump and ask why FunPub decided to repaint Axor into Circuit, just remember that Action Master Circuit was a European repaint of Axer. The final product definitely looks a lot less offensive to the eyes than the original concept pictures made it, but it still remained my least anticipated figure from the Subscription Service. I’ll keep it, but I can definitely see a lot of people not liking it. In fairness, Circuit isn’t a ‘terrible’ repaint; FP tried… they really did. It just doesn’t live up to Scourge and Slipstream.
